A Magento 2 migration with flawless integrations
The brief
Operating over 400 charity stores across the UK, to raise greater awareness and further funds, the Sue Ryder online shop was born. Selling brand new products at affordable prices, 100% of their profits go towards the specialist care they provide.
With a legacy Magento 1 store, Sue Ryder sought a proactive agency that could help them make the move to Magento 2. Troubled by the integration with their ERP system, Microsoft Navision, they needed a team with proven integration experience. IDHL fit the bill perfectly.
The solution
Following a rebrand from ‘Sourced by Sue Ryder’ – a name which many assumed the sale of second-hand goods – Sue Ryder needed a refreshed site design that would better highlight their new product offering while reflecting their brand changes. To make their new product eCommerce proposition more obvious, we introduced a new domain, ‘shop.sueryder.org’ and features such as a USP bar and product labelling functionality for clear signposting.
Previously suffering from a less than perfect integration with their Microsoft Navision ERP solution, a seamless integration was imperative to project success. A shared system linked to their physical stores, launching the site meant taking their POS system offline and needed to be completed out of hours – something we were only too happy to accommodate.
Integration with shopping platforms, eBay and Amazon, was also key to support the growth of their online shop while Sage Pay was implemented as their payment gateway.
Users are empowered to manage their marketing preferences through a custom MailChimp integration which centralises preference management across their stores and online shop. Custom export feeds were also built to support data import into Sue Ryder’s multiple back office systems, syncing with MailChimp to streamlining the management of their operations.
Creating a tailored shopping journey, personalisation powered by Nosto was implemented to highlight best-selling products and place recommended items across product pages to encourage cross-sell opportunities. The addition of Feefo for reviews introduces social proofing, showcasing feedback from happy customers to advocate for the quality of products sourced by Sue Ryder.
Enhancing the user experience
UX considerations were the focus, highlighting their products by displaying them more favourably onsite. Creating a streamlined user experience, we stripped back the navigation and implemented filters across product pages, making it easy for shoppers to source the products they want.
Product labels enable the Sue Ryder team to promote their latest products, promotions and sale items, while the use of Magento Page Builder means they can easily create new pages when required.
To support GiftAid contributions at the point of purchase, we built bespoke functionality that not only manages the donation process but is easy for their customers to use.
