Elevating eCommerce: Craigmore's migration to Magento 2

Based in Northern Ireland and established over 25 years ago, Craigmore is not only one of the largest Karcher and Karcher Service Centres in the UK, but the only one in Northern Ireland. They’re also approved stockists of other industry-leading brands such as 3M, Draper, Matebo and Nielsen.

The brief

IDHL came onboard to migrate Craigmore’s website, freshen up the onsite experience, and introduce some up to the minute eCommerce features and functionality.

The solution

Making the most of Magento 2’s standard functionality, Craigmore is well equipped with the needed functionality to help them reach their goals.

Built on a multi-store platform, we used default Magento 2 capabilities to manage tax, shipping and currencies, allowing Craigmore to operate with ease across the UK, Ireland, US and Australia. Choosing to manage the setting of pricing themselves, no converter was required.

To give Craigmore greater control over their site, Page Builder was used functionality to create flexible landing pages. Before the migration, Craigmore were concerned their website would not be able to cope with additions such as these but now their site can easily ensure increased traffic to campaign landing pages.

Alongside this, marketing aspects such as product scheduling and promotions, banners and offers have been added enabling better forward planning and improving efficiency.

Custom functionality helps users find specific equipment parts through a simple drop-down menu that returns the products associated with that model. Improving the overall user experience, it’s now also easier for shoppers to find products by brand while product videos have been introduced to make the discovery process more engaging.

Easing the pressure of site management, Craigmore chose to go with Magento Cloud – a fully managed, cloud-hosted platform. The benefits of this mean Craigmore get faster response times and continuous monitoring from Adobe, allowing them to pre-empt issues and create a solution before a problem can occur.

The results

An important part of this project was improving Craigmore’s abilities to sell B2B. With an intricate setup to undertake, we leveraged Magento 2’s capabilities to offer them valuable B2B specific functionality. This includes pricing excluding VAT, the ability to request a pro forma invoice, as well as an integrated RMA process and an improved returns policy designed to give B2B customers more control over their account.

To further enhance the user experience, specific integrations were needed that revolved around payment, reviews and email marketing:

  • A Klarna integration enables new and easy payment options including pay in 3 or pay in 30 days.
  • Trustpilot was migrated from their Magento 1 site, but onsite visibility was enhanced to make their 5,000+ reviews more prominent and aid the building of social proof.
  • To provide email marketing functionality, we integrated email marketing automation platform, Klaviyo.
