Enhancing productivity and customer journey for Slurp
The brief
Slurp is an international online merchant that has a multichannel approach with a store in Banbury in Oxfordshire. They had a desire to double the size of their business over the next 12 months.
To overcome growing pains, IDHL were appointed to refine processes across their warehouse, improve productivity and enhance the customer journey. We recommended a change of Warehouse Management System (WMS) with a Magento integration middleware; a custom integration to improve efficiencies.
The solution
With an existing Magento 2 presence, the wine retailers were in need of a collaborative agency who could help them keep their website running smoothly while ensuring it evolved with their business and customer needs. Our expertise in Adobe Commerce, along with our consultative approach, made us the ideal partner. Our aim: to deliver an all-around winning formula to install better processes for the business and enhance the user journey.
The team had previously faced issues with their distribution channels, meaning stock levels were out of sync during peak periods, especially around the festive season. They encountered challenges with picking, packing and dispatching items in a timely manner, and they would regularly oversell stock that they couldn’t fulfil.
Slurp are just as passionate about their customers as they are about their wines, and they wanted their buyer’s journey to reflect this. With this objective in mind, they approached IDHL for advice. Our recommendation was to migrate to a new WMS which would be capable of automatically syncing their orders and stock levels with their Magento 2 store.
After considering various options we recommended Peoplevox, as the solution had benefitted our other clients in similar industries. Happy to take our advice, Slurp chose Peoplevox as their new WMS provider.
Once the decision was made, the next step was to start looking at the integration methods with Magento 2. Due to previous issues around stock, we proposed DataConnectr solution – a standalone middleware platform that we have built in-house. The platform would work around the clock to control the eCommerce data, making stock management easier, consequently improving their business efficiencies.
Taking the strain out of the process, the DataConnectr platform automates the syncing of all orders, product data, inventory levels and shipping and fulfillment, directly from Peoplevox to Magento.
Alongside the project being launched on time and within budget, the integration between Magento 2 and PeopleVox improved the accuracy of product information and near real-time inventory updates on their site, resulting in improved customer satisfaction and experience.
The Slurp team now reports greater efficiencies in the warehouse and a significant reduction in time spent on processing orders.
""Our warehouse is running better than ever before and that wouldn’t have happened without your help – thank you so much! We’re all really looking forward to another peak period!"“
